The video posted below was created by Day In Washington as a tool to encourage both Presidential candidates and the disability community to attend the National Forum on Disability Issues. Those issues must have a place in the presidential election.
On July 26th in Columbus, Ohio, the disability community will host a historic non-partisan forum on national disability policy, featuring the 2008 Presidential Candidates (invited). The forum will feature time slots for the presidential candidates to individually present their visions for the future of disability policy in America followed by questions by Judy Woodruff, news anchor and journalist (“The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer”), who will act as the Moderator.
Senator John McCain has agreed to participate and will be speaking with attendees veia satellite webcast from Arizona. Unfortunately, Senator Barack Obama will not be able to participate at all and so has asked that Senator Tom Harkin act as his surrogate for this event.
